Google Play Protect more protection on Android

Google Play Protect: In an effort to keep Android users safe from malware on their phones, Google is rolling out new security features with Play Protect for all devices running Google Mobile Services 11 and above.

Google says it will automatically scan apps from the Play Store installed on your phone to make sure there's no malware.Google Play Protect

Applications that show signs or suspicions of malicious activity may be blocked or completely removed from your device.

The service was first announced in May, but is already starting to become more widely available.

Play Protect uses machine learning, and can detect new attacks that have just started to spread (yes, even zero-days).

However, if you use apps from Stores other than Google Play, you are still at risk of getting hit by a virus.
