Samsung launched the Galaxy Note FE in South Korea last week and it seems the device is already a best seller.
The Korea Times reports that the refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is already hard to find in the country, despite 400,000 stock units being manufactured. Additionally, there are reports that the Note FE has increased daily device activations by 60%, confirming the device's huge demand.
The Black Onyx and Blue Coral versions of the Galaxy Note FE are the most successful. Samsung says that once stocks run out, no more units will be offered in the country. However, rumors suggest that the company wants to offer the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to the global market in the near future.
The Samsung Note FE is almost identical to the original model, with one key difference… It won’t explode!
Recall that the Note 7 was recalled after a failed attempt to replace a faulty battery that overheated. This time Samsung decided to tread on safe paths and equip the new device with a 3200 mAh battery that is less likely to overheat.
Overall, the two models are quite similar. So, the Galaxy Note FE comes with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 8890 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Storage is 64GB but there is also support for microSD cards with a capacity of up to 256GB.
Currently, Samsung's new device is selling for $610 in South Korea, which means it's $250 cheaper than the original model.
In other news, the successor to the Note 7, the Note 8,will be released in a few months. Rumors suggest that we will be able to get our hands on it in the second half of September. Others, however, report that the release is much closer, specifically at the end of August. So we just have to see…
