Microsoft has just released a new update for its Pix Camera iOS app, adding a feature that should have been there from the start: flash support.
It sounds strange for a camera app to not have flash, but previous versions of Microsoft Pix actually didn't have this feature for some reason that's hard to understand.
Version 1.0.28 thus introduces flash, and Microsoft says that it's all due to high availability, meaning that many users who actually installed Pix on their phones actually reached out to the company for this feature.
Next, there's a drop-down toolbar that includes the flash, timer, and network overlay, with Microsoft trying to provide an easy-to-use menu to access all of these.
There are some improvements, as Microsoft explains that Pix could launch faster while shutter-to-shutter speed should be significantly better. And last but not least, the company's engineers are focusing on reducing the size, which is a very important thing, considering there are plenty of users out there with 16GB iPhones.
Microsoft Pix is one of the Redmond that updates on a regular basis, mainly because it is much more advanced than the default iOS camera app that Apple its customers.
Pix comes with facial recognition, smart settings to automatically control scenes and lightning to update settings, the moment of capture, live images, hyperlapse, auto sync, and 3D Touch support.
