PunchKeyboard: Typing can be quite a challenge, especially when you're holding something in both hands, and this is especially true in virtual reality, where you'll have to constantly hold the game's controls.
However, one developer seems to have found a very practical way to overcome this particular difficulty.
Independent VR developer Jonathan Ravasz has developed a highly functional virtual reality keyboard that lets you type without leaving your game controllers. PunchKeyboard is essentially a visual interface input that lets you use what you're holding to type in VR.
Visually it resembles a typewriter, but the app has been enhanced with auto-complete and next-word prediction features to further simplify the typing process.
The virtual keyboard's smart features currently use data from Reddit conversations as their source, but Ravasz assures that it can easily do so from custom dictionaries.

In case you want to learn more about PunchKeyboard, Ravasz has documented the approach and motivation behind developing the app on blog .
Ravasz has uploaded all the code as well as a demo executable to his GitHub repository, so you can access the PunchKeyboard code. The app is open source, which means you can make any changes you want.
As the developer of PunchKeyboard explains, game developers can integrate it into their games very easily.
