Earlier today we brought you a rumored new feature of the new Galaxy S8 regarding its design. Now we're back to reveal a new piece of news that just broke about the much-talked-about smartphone.
Specifically, a reliable source has revealed the dimensions of the two long-awaited models, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The measurements come from the manufacturer who recently revealed the phone's 3D capabilities.
The Galaxy S8 Plus will have dimensions of 152.38 x 78.51 x 7.94mm which reveals that the screen will be around 6.3 inches, not counting the two curved sides. So essentially the screen will be even bigger than the 6.3-inch one. It seems that the S8 Plus will be wider and taller than the Galaxy S7 edge proving that Samsung intends to increase the size of its upcoming smartphones.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 will have dimensions of 140.14mm x 72.20 x 7.30mm which reveals a display size of at least 5.7 inches, without taking into account the curved sides of course. The S8 is expected to have a larger screen than the S7 edge but smaller and thinner than the S7 which has a 5.1-inch display and dimensions of 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm. In general, Samsung's new smartphones will be wider than their predecessors.
Since we are referring to the screens of the new Samsung devices, we point out that the S8 is rumored to offer a screen resolution of 4096 x 2160 and the new 3D Touch technology that we also find on the iPhone.
The strange thing is that the report shows a microUSB 2.0 while until now it was rumored that Samsung would feature USB Type-C ports on its new models.
