As we mentioned in a previous post, Apple has released a new thinner and lighter MacBook Pro. According to the company, it is the best MacBook Pro ever released.
The innovation of the new devices comes primarily from the function keys that have been removed.
To put it more simply, they've been replaced with a multi-touch Touch Bar that appears on the screen and provides instant access to tools and shortcuts. The shortcuts change depending on which software is being used, and they're customizable.
The Touch Bar also features a Touch ID sensor for logging into the device and authorizing Apple Pay payments. For Touch ID, Apple developed a new chip called the T1, which acts as a secure pocket for the sensor.
On the outside, the MacBook Pro has a pretty impressive design that uses aluminum, four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports along with a headphone jack.
Thunderbolt 3 ports support data transfer speeds of up to 40-Gbps, can support two 5K displays, and function as USB, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI, or VGA ports with the appropriate dongle. When functioning as USB-C ports, they offer data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
