USB Kill 2.0: destroys every computer

A company from Hong Kong is selling a USB called the USB Kill 2.0. As you might have guessed from its name, it's not a regular USB. The device can fry any computer it connects to with a surge of power through the USB port.

Last year, a device called USB Killer developed by a Russian hacker named Dark Purple made waves online due to its ability to destroy any computer the hacker wanted.USB Kill 2.0

Now, a Hong Kong company has released a similar product called USB Kill 2.0, and it costs $49.95.

The company claims to have developed the product with the sole purpose of allowing businesses to check whether their devices are vulnerable to USB power delivery attacks.

The device also comes with a protective shield that sells for $13.95 and allows users to test their devices without damaging them.

Removing this protective shield essentially arms the device, which is then able to “fry” any device that is connected.

The company released USB Kill 2.0 on August 16, but the first batch has already sold out.

According to the company's testing, 95 percent of all computers available on the market today are vulnerable to power attacks via the USB port.

The only devices not vulnerable to USB Kill attacks are recent Macbook models, which isolate data coming in through USB ports.

After the above, pay attention to every device you connect to your computer... especially USB drives.
