BitTorrent today announced the public Alpha release of its P2P messaging platform, Bleep. In addition to the Windows app, the company also has versions for Mac and Android. About two months ago, BitTorrent released an invite-only Alpha version of Bleep for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Thanks to feedback from the Bleep Alpha testing team, the company has a much more stable version of the beta and is making the first public Alpha available to any willing tester.
On this occasion, BitTorrent has also unveiled the official Bleep (as seen above) stating:
It was inspired by the simplicity of a folded note. You can write a message, fold it, and hand it to your friend. It's fast and efficient. There's no middleman. The image of the folded note is designed as a symbol of speed, and privacy, in today's digital age.
Bleep testers can sign up with an email or mobile number. They can also access the client in incognito mode, which means they don't have to share any personal information to send a message. They can also import their contacts from Google, and invite friends via email, SMS, QR code, or with a public key.

BitTorrent Chat, Bleep offers end-to-end encryption for every message sent through it, and stores the message content only locally on your device. Users have the option to delete their encrypted message history, leaving no trace of conversations behind.
