Benny and Rafi Fine, also known as “The Fine Brothers,” released a video of kids reacting to an old Apple II computer from the 1970s. The problems start from the beginning, and it seems that even turning on the computer is a challenge for 2000s kids.
The Fine Brothers are online producers, writers, and directors. They are best known for their successful YouTube video series React. The Fine brothers started the series about four years ago, releasing videos like “kids reacting to viral videos,” “kids reacting to the Harlem Shake,” and “kids reacting to Twilight.”.
As you might imagine, the Fine Brothers' reactions to a bulky Apple II (video below) are not as intense as they were on the aforementioned topics, but they find it incredible how old the person who used such a computer would be.
It's also sad that for some kids, all they need to do is press two buttons to essentially give power to the machine, the way computers are today.
The floppy disk drive surprised some of the youngsters, while 11-year-old Jayka was puzzled that such a huge machine didn't have a hard drive!!!.
Other funny comments include: “Where’s the mouse?” “I don’t understand it, and I also don’t understand the 1970s,” “The guy who uses this […] must have a lot of codes right next to him,” “How are you going to search for your work?”, “It’s a CD [referring to floppy disks],” “I think it could be someone’s last name [referring to the word DOS],” “You guys are crazy,” “The color green is wild.”
The Apple II was a highly successful and mass-produced “microcomputer” (if we can use the word they were called at the time) designed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
According to Wikipedia, “In terms of ease of use, features, and expandability, the Apple II was a significant technological advance over its predecessor, the Apple I.”
