The chances of Apple making an iPhone with a 3D display are slim. Jony Ive is not going to allow it. But just because the Cupertino company has no intention of embracing 3D doesn't mean you can't watch 3D videos on your iPhone.
And this is where Nanoveu with its smart screen protector that allows the iPhone to display 3D images very cheaply, without having to download an app.
The whole thing works using nanotechnology that creates tiny prisms in thin plastic that wraps around your iPhone's screen like a regular screen protector. The lenses send slightly different images to your left and right eyes, creating a 3D experience that doesn't require glasses to work.
Once you stick the screen protector on your iPhone, you are ready to watch any 3D video. iOS will not be in 3D, but you can add 3D movies to your library and watch them on your device. And if the video is not 3D, then the protective screen does its job and keeps the device safe from damage.
The screen protector is expected to be released sometime in March and will cost $20.
