Another Twitter account hacked

Another Twitter has been hacked!
This time, it's CEO Jack Dorsey.
OurMine claimed responsibility for the breach, which was discovered after the group managed to post some video clips.

The group also wrote at 2:50 a.m. saying “Hi, we’re OurMine, and we’re checking your security,” with a link to their website that promotes and sells their “services.”

Although the tweets and video clip posted by the group did not contain any harmful content, they were immediately deleted.
Ourmine is the same Saudi Arabian hacking group that previously hacked a number of social media accounts and other CEOs, including:

  • Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google
  • Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook
  • Dick Costolo, former CEO of Twitter
  • Brendan Iribe, CEO of Oculus

It’s very possible that the group used passwords from the recent massive breach of LinkedIn, MySpace, and Tumblr to break into Dorsey’s account or any other service that could have given OurMine access to Dorsey’s Twitter account.
OurMine claims that it’s simply a “security test” of the accounts and that they’re teaching people how to better secure their online accounts, although they do offer their support to those they target, charging up to $5,000 for a “scan” of their social media accounts, or for website security holes and other security vulnerabilities.
Change your passwords for all your social media accounts and other online accounts immediately, especially if you use the same password for multiple sites.
Who will be the next target on OurMine’s list?
