Weeks before LG was scheduled to unveil a new smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a set of photos have leaked that purport to show the company's upcoming flagship, the LG G5.
While there's not much to see – the device in the photo is almost completely hidden behind a case – the photos, discovered by Droid Life, suggest that the phone will have dual rear cameras.
According to the source, Droid Life, the cameras have a resolution of 16 and 8 megapixels respectively, but there are no other details about their purpose. The photos also show that the phone will have a fingerprint reader just below the cameras on the back, which is in line with previous LG phone designs. Other visible details include a SIM/SD card slot on the right edge of the phone and a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the phone.
The photos don't quite confirm a previous report from CNET Korea, which said the phone would have a modular design with a battery that could be easily swapped out by removing the bottom of the phone. Previous rumors have suggested that the phone - the LG G5 - will have a Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB of RAM, as well as an 8-megapixel camera, though that's impossible to confirm from the new photos.
As far as rumors go, this is all pretty sketchy, as the LG is not visible in the photos. We'll know more after February 21st, when LG is scheduled to unveil the phone. Stay tuned!
