There are many ways to keep a computer in tip-top shape and remove files that are simply taking up unnecessary space on local drives, and there's no doubt that CCleaner is one of the best options.
A new version of CCleaner was released today and it comes to improve the overall experience of the application and more importantly, it adds better support for Windows 10, Microsoft's new operating system, whose adoption is on the rise these days.
First of all, let’s look at the general improvements it brings.
CCleaner 5.13 adds Opera and Chrome cache cleaning to its capabilities while also improving the Google Chrome extension and cache cleaning. In other words, if you are a die-hard Google Chrome user or have already switched to Opera, this tool can now help you get rid of browser leftovers easily.
At the same time, the new version also includes an optimized 64-bit architecture, which will lead to significant improvements in performance and speed. In addition, it includes an improved automatic update check process and Unicode text support.
For Windows 10 users, the new version 5.13 comes with an improved Windows 10 registry cleaning, which is crucial for those who want to make a new PC run at maximum speed.
The application already includes support for Microsoft Edge, the default browser in Windows 10, so if you want to use that and not go to Google Chrome or Opera, CCleaner can remove traces and unnecessary files from there as well.
With all these improvements, CCleaner becomes an even more advanced solution for those who want a one-click system optimization solution, but in case you are afraid of losing your settings or something, remember to create a backup and you will always be on the safe side.
