Python vulnerabilities are being fixed in Ubuntu OS

UbuntuCanonical has published details about several Python vulnerabilities found and fixed in the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and 12.04 LTS operating systems.

Amidst discussions about implementing Python 3.5 on the latest Ubuntu, maintainers quickly updated the python2.7, 3.2, and 3.4 packages on supported Ubuntu.

For example, " Python CGIHTTPServer was found to incorrectly handle URL-encoded separators in URLs. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to expose sensitive information or potentially execute arbitrary code. This issue was only present in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and 14.04 LTS."

For a more detailed description of the issues, you can consult Canonical 's security bulletin . Users are urged to update their systems as soon as possible.

The holes can be fixed if you update your system to the latest python packages, to apply the new updates you can run the Update Manager.
