Google Search now shows all apps related to content search, not just those already installed on users' devices.
It's a period of change and renewal for Google, and we continue with the presentation of the second change that the giant company is making to its search results. (You can learn about the first change here.)
Google is also changing the way apps appear in Google Search. Now all available apps relevant to your search are displayed, not just the ones you already have installed.
Apps have been indexed in Google Search for some time now, but Google has now made some changes to the way it displays results. Previously, Google Search only had the option to run apps that were already installed on your device in the results. Now you can run apps that you don't have installed. It also added support for the app index, which requires you to add some code for the app, then add links to their website, and finally just tell Google that they've been added there.
Google states:
"If you have implemented App Indexing, when your App content is relevant to a Google search performed on Android devices, users will be able to see the app and click on the link to install your app, only from the search results page. By clicking on the link, users will be automatically transferred to the Google Play store, where they can install your app.".
Google will now show in search results apps that users don't have installed on their devices, and give them an easy and quick way to download the app. There are over 30 billion links to apps in Google's index
