The Ubuntu Touch platform already hosts many interesting applications, and it seems that developers have started to implement software that goes beyond what anyone would expect, such as a torrent client for example.
The app store for Ubuntu Touch has been growing steadily over the past few months, with interesting apps being added all the time. Most of them cover some of the basic needs of the operating system, but there are quite a few that go far beyond what users need.
A torrent client isn't something you'll find on most phones. Android and Windows Phone already have this type of app, and it looks like Ubuntu is now one of those platforms. Ubuntu developer Alan Pope has posted a screenshot of a new app he's developed for Ubuntu called DowNow.
This is a relatively new application and is still under development. You can find the package for DowNow 0.3 by clicking on Launchpad if you want to take a closer look, or you can download it from the Ubuntu Software Center.
Currently, the only devices supported are the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 if you want to try Ubuntu for phones, but this may change over the next few months.
