Depree Johnson is a 19-year-old from Lake Worth, Florida, who seems to have a passion for guns and crime, which he brags about online. He doesn't seem to understand that public photos of criminal acts could land him in prison.
After noticing a photo Depree posted on Instagram, investigators decided to pay him a visit. He already had convictions for theft, burglary, and illegal possession of firearms in his record, and the photo of him and his friend getting ready to fire some guns in a kitchen didn't help his case.
Officers from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office were actually investigating Johnson's possible involvement in a string of burglaries when they looked at his Instagram, according to The Smocking Gun. The photo was enough to trigger a search of the young criminal's home, which led officers to the evidence they needed.
During the investigation, officers found stolen guns and a large amount of jewelry, which led to the arrest of Depree Johnson. The young man was booked into the county jail on 142 criminal charges, according to The Smocking Gun. The young man was a prime suspect in several ongoing investigations, and the discovery helped close some of them.
