New reports from Bloomberg claim that iOS 27 will include a custom wallpaper generator and an option to automatically create shortcuts with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

iOS 27: Image Playground and custom wallpaper
When choosing a new wallpaper, users will have the option to create something custom using the app Image Playground. Image Playground is used to create custom emoji and images that can be used across iOS. Now it is said that it will be upgraded to iOS 27, offering the ability to create custom wallpapers.

Apple is testing models that produce more realistic images, so the version of Image Playground used to create custom wallpapers may be different from the current version.
iOS 27: Automatically create shortcuts
The Shortcuts app is also getting a major upgrade, with users being able to use natural language to ask Siri to create a shortcut. Users will be able to tell Siri what they want to accomplish with a shortcut, so the workflow can be created using artificial intelligence .
Bloomberg reports that the Shortcuts app has a prompt that says “What do you want your shortcut to do?”There’s a text field there where the user can type a description. The AI-generated shortcuts are automatically installed and immediately available for use.
Currently, creating shortcuts is mostly done manually, and it's a tool that has remained out of reach for many casual iPhone users. A Shortcuts app that can work with natural language capabilitieswould likely be more widely used.

The ability to create personalized wallpapers through Image Playground and the automatic creation of shortcuts with natural language aim to make the operating system more creative, more "smart" and at the same time more accessible for all users. In particular, the upgrade to the Shortcuts application could significantly change the way users interact with iOS automation features, removing the complexity that has so far prevented many from utilizing them.
