Zscaler , a leading cybersecurity company , today announced the acquisition of SquareX , a browser security company . The acquisition will strengthen Zscaler’s ability to deliver comprehensive browser security solutions.
This will increase security and eliminate the need to use third-party browsers.

SquareX claims that its browser extension effectively manages threats such as malicious extensions, phishing, genAI data leakage, insider threats , and more, directly within the browser environment.
With this acquisition, Zscaler intends to integrate SquareX technologies into its existing solutions, offering its customers a more complete and secure browsing experience. The extensions that will be developed will be lightweight and easy to install, allowing users to enjoy increased security without the need for complex configurations or changes to the way they use the Internet.
With the technology provided by SquareX, Zscaler says it will be able to extend security to unmanaged devices, allowing organizations to secure users within their preferred browser – such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Zscaler acquires SquareX as cyber threats intensify
