Perplexity launches its AI browser, Comet, on Android . The new Comet app is now available for download and includes many of the same features as the desktop version of the browser. One of those features is the ability to invoke Perplexity ’s built-in AI assistant while you browse the web.

It's one of the first major AI-focused browsers to reach mobile devices. ChatGPT Atlas is still only available on macOS. Google has integrated Gemini into its Chrome apps for desktop and mobile, though it functions more as an extension than a full AI-powered browsing experience. The Comet browser was released for desktop in July for Perplexity Max subscribers. Last month, it began rolling out to the general public.

Perplexity: Comet browser on Android for easier browsing
Like Comet for desktop, Comet for Android allows users to use voice to chat about information in their tabs , as well as to ask Perplexity to create summaries of what they’re looking at. There’s no way to sync browsing history or bookmarks between Comet’s mobile and desktop apps, though, and Perplexity spokesperson Beejoli Shah told The Verge that the feature is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.

Perplexity is also working on adding full support for other Comet features, including a fully autonomous voice mode and a built-in password manager. Shah notes that you can still use Android's password manager with the browser.
