Humanoid robot dances for Vladimir Putin

A humanoid robot with artificial intelligence danced in front of President Vladimir Putinduring a technology exhibition organized by Sberbank, Russia's largest bank. The demonstration of the robot's abilities, broadcast on state television, highlighted the bank's latest technological developments and was clearly intended to show the future of robotics and artificial intelligence in the Russian economy and society.

The robot, named "Green," appeared before the Russian leader and described himself in a strikingly human way: "My name is Green. I am the first Russian humanoid robot with built-in artificial intelligence. This means that I am not just a program on a screen, but a physical embodiment of technology," he said, before starting to dance to his favorite song.

The “dance” of artificial intelligence

Green's performance was not just a dance demonstration. The robot combined natural movements with programmed interactions , responding to voice commands and interacting with the President. The spectacle was closely watched by Putin's bodyguards, who made sure to maintain a safe distance between the leader and the machine. Vladimir Putin described the demonstration as " very beautiful " and thanked the robot, showing a positive attitude towards his country's technological innovations

Sberbank said the robot's software will be continuously upgraded and that Green can also perform physical tasks, with a pilot integration planned for selected bank functions. This suggests that the technology is not just for show, but also for practical applications in the financial sector, paving the way for robots that will interact with customers in physical spaces.

Previous incidents and the evolution of robotics

Green's appearance followed a recent, less successful demonstration of a robot called Aidol. During a presentation in Moscow, Aidol fell face down shortly after it appeared on stage, highlighting the challenges of integrating humanoid robots into public appearances. Despite the unfortunate incidents, the development of Russian robots shows significant progress in kinesiology, sensors and artificial intelligence software, with the goal of their future use in everyday operations.

In addition to the humanoid robot, Sberbank also unveiled some new-generation “smart” machinesthat use cameras and sensors to provide customers with a summary of their health based on ten indicators, such as pulse and blood pressure. Putin commented that he had recently undergone one of his regular health checks and that everything was fine, showing interest in the new technology that combines financial and medical services.

The importance of the event for Russian technology

Sberbank’s event is more than just a robot demonstration. It demonstrates Russia’s commitment to developing artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as its willingness to promote domestic technological innovations in strategic sectors such as banking and healthcare. The fact that the presentation was broadcast on state media also demonstrates the use of these technologies for public diplomacy and the internal promotion of the country’s technological superiority.

Analysts believe that the use of humanoid robots in public appearances and their integration into operational processes is a strategic move to strengthen Russia's image as a country investing in artificial intelligence, while also allowing citizens to become familiar with new technologies.

Green’s presentation in Moscow confirms that Russian robotics and artificial intelligence are advancing at a rapid pace. From spectacular dance performances to smart cash machines that monitor health, technology is now an integral part of everyday life and the country’s strategic plans. Despite challenges and minor mishaps like Aidol, Russia’s progress in the technology space shows that humanoid robots are no longer science fiction, but part of modern reality.
