China: The first hotel where robots take over almost everything

Automation is entering yet another sector of everyday life, with Pudu Robotics aiming to radically change the way hotels. The Chinese company, which is among the world's leading manufacturers of commercial robots, announced the signing of a strategic partnership with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development Co. Ltd., with the aim of developing the world's first hotel where almost all services will be performed by autonomous robots.

The ambitious project is expected to become a benchmark for the hospitality industry, combining artificial intelligence, advanced robotics and a fully interconnected digital ecosystem.

A new generation hotel without traditional services

The new hotel will be built on the West Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area. The choice of this location is not accidental, as the area is developing into a major center for innovation and cutting-edge technology development.

Unlike today's "smart" hotels, where automation is mostly limited to digital room systems or mobile apps, the new venture aspires to replace almost every traditional service with autonomous robots.

From the moment a visitor arrives at the facilities, the reception process, check-in, luggage transfer, delivery of items to the room, cleaning of common areas, and even service in the dining areas, will be carried out without human intervention.

Artificial intelligence at the heart of the experience

A key pillar of the project is the utilization of advanced technologies artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics. Pudu Robotics will integrate the PuduFM 1.0, combined with the PuduAgent, creating an environment where different types of robots will exchange information and collaborate in real time.

The architecture is based on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, which allow robots to perceive their environment, understand verbal commands, and make autonomous decisions according to the needs of each visitor.

In this way, services will not operate in isolation, but as a unified ecosystem that will dynamically adapt to the hotel's operating.

From pilot operation to full deployment

The construction of the project will unfold in successive phases. The first pilot period is scheduled to begin in late 2026, when the first visitors will be able to try out the new services in practice.

The full development of the complex is estimated to be completed by 2030, with the aim of creating an integrated hotel model where the majority of operations will be performed by autonomous systems.

Robot for every different mission

During the signing of the agreement, the entire Pudu Robotics robot ecosystem was presented, demonstrating how each model undertakes different tasks.

FlashBot made automatic product deliveries through smart distribution stations, while PUDU T300 transported heavy luggage autonomously utilizing the building's elevators.

At the same time, CC1 Pro and MT1 took over the cleaning of the facilities with the help of artificial intelligence algorithms , BellaBot Pro served attendees by serving coffee, while KettyBot Pro distributed drinks and snacks to visitors. The PUDU D5 humanoid also attracted special attention , which presented advanced user interaction capabilities.

The future of hospitality is changing

This specific initiative highlights the new direction being followed by the global hospitality industry, where artificial intelligence is no longer limited to automating individual processes, but takes on the overall management of the customer experience.

At the same time, the use of robots can contribute to reducing operational costs, providing 24/7 service availability and improving efficiency, especially during periods of increased demand. On the other hand, the widespread adoption of such technologies also opens up the debate about the future role of human staff in tourism, as well as the balance between automation and human service.

Pudu Robotics' global expansion

Pudu Robotics already has a strong international presence, operating in more than 85 countries and regions, while more than 130,000 robotic systems are used in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, shopping malls, factories, educational institutions and public organizations.

With this new project, the company attempts to demonstrate that the next generation of hospitality will be based on the close collaboration of artificial intelligence and robotics, creating a model that may become a benchmark for hotel investments in the coming years.
