Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic plans to add memory support to Claude, in an effort to compete with ChatGPT, which already has advanced memory functionality.

With memory support, Claude will be able to remember previous conversations and reference them in new ones, thus improving the quality of responses.

For example, if you explicitly ask it to prefer the Python programming language , it will try to provide results based on Python. While Anthropic has not officially confirmed that Claude has memory enabled, some users have spotted indications of this in the mobile app.

Additionally, Claude will allow its functionality to be integrated into Artifacts. For those who don't know, Artifacts is a feature of Claude that displays interactive web pages or content in a sidebar.

This could be a crucial step, as more users will be able to “creatively collaborate” with Claude to develop applications — although its success depends on how well it is integrated within Artifacts.

Based on the above, it seems that Anthropic is trying to bring Claude closer to the experience offered by ChatGPT, focusing on two key points: personalized interaction through memory and the integration of tools that facilitate creativity and productivity, such as Artifacts.

If the memory feature, it would be an important step for Claude, as it would allow it to “remember” each user’s preferences, writing style, or needs over time — an element that transforms the assistant from a “tool” to a “partner.”

The ability to integrate Claude into Artifacts, on the other hand, shows that Anthropic emphasizes direct and visual interaction, which may make Claude particularly attractive to developers, educators, or content creators who need a collaborative environment with live content.
