OpenAI plans to release an update for ChatGPT that will enable the new o3 Pro model, which has more computing power for more complex thinking.

Currently, ChatGPT offers the o4-mini, o4-mini-high, GPT-4.5, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1-mini , and o3 models for $20 Plus plan subscribers .
The $200 Pro subscription includes all of the above models, plus the o1 Pro, which offers increased computing power for more demanding thinking. While the o1 Pro is powerful, it is now considered outdated, as the o3 model is more advanced. However, that may soon change with the arrival of the o3 Pro.
As hinted at an event in New Delhi, OpenAI plans to soon replace o1 Pro with o3 Pro, offering Pro plan users more power to solve difficult problems.

Although the o3 already outperforms the o1 in various benchmarks, the o1 Pro provides additional computing resources for greater reliability in more demanding tasks.
In the past, the o1 Pro has outperformed the o1-preview and o1 in difficult benchmarks, such as math competitions, programming challenges, and PhD-level science questions.
The o3 Pro is expected to combine the more powerful core logic of the o3 with the reliability benefits of the o1 Pro. It will enhance the thinking capabilities of the existing o3 model and allow Pro plan users to do even more.
OpenAI may announce the o3 Pro model for subscribers to ChatGPT's $200 Pro plan as early as next week or later this month.

Based on the above information, it seems that OpenAI is preparing to significantly enhance the capabilities of the Pro plan with the addition of the new o3 Pro. This is a significant step, as the o3 Pro combines the already superior performance of the basic o3 with the additional computing power and reliability that until now was exclusively provided by the o1 Pro.
