Many Android and iOS users depend on Google Calendar to keep up with their busy schedules, from appointments and meetings to events and everything in between. Currently, when you go to create a new event in Google Calendar, it automatically defaults to the active account's event calendar. If you want to switch to a different calendar, you can tap on your account details to bring up an expanded view that lists all your calendars across the accounts connected to device .
This setting works perfectly, but while investigating a recent Calendar update, we discovered a potential change that could make selecting a calendar for a new event easier. According to a new report, in version 2025.01.1-713312946-release of Calendar for Android, there is an option to enable an alternative UI for the event creation screen. This new setting shows all of your calendars up front, without having to go to another menu first.

If you manage multiple accounts, you'll still need to tap on the relevant email to switch between them. However, once you do, all calendars connected to that account should appear in a single, easy-to-use row. This is the first look at this UI tweak, and there's always a chance it'll evolve before Google finishes the design.
While it's a small update, it could make things more convenient for users, and it's sure to be welcomed by many if Google decides to make it available to everyone. Plus, with rumors circulating that Apple is developing a dedicated events app, this move could be just what it needs to stay ahead.
