Gemini, AI chatbot , is likely to replace Google Assistant at some point. But it still doesn’t support Routines or similar features. Routines seem to be one of Gemini's biggest drawbacks compared to Google Assistant right now, so it's nice to see that Google is actually working on it and may implement a solution in the future.

It would be even better if Gemini could create Routines for you, but we don't have any information yet on whether the chatbot will be able to do that. However, Routines are a great way to get simple tasks done, and Gemini should get support for the feature sooner rather than later.

Google Assistant Routines offer a powerful way to streamline daily tasks and improve productivity, especially when supported by Gemini. By setting up routines, users can automate a series of actions with a single voice command. For example, a morning routine can be programmed to provide weather updates, calendar events, and news updates as soon as the command “Good morning” is given. Similarly, an evening routine can help end the day by dimming smart lights, setting alarms, and playing relaxing music. These routines not only save time but also add an element of convenience and efficiency to everyday life.
