The latest update for Spider-Man 2 may yield clues about an upcoming DLC, accidentally granting access to development toolsets, diagnostic tools, and the disabling of various modifications.
The version 1,002,000 update, which became available today, adds a New Game+ that includes new features, including the ability to surpass the base game's level cap, unlock new styles on the symbiote outfit , and upgrade gadgets with gold styles.

Other new features added in the update include the ability to replay missions and the ability to change the time of day after the game.
However, players soon discovered that it also blocks access to the game's development menus, which are used during development to skip to specific points in the game, run diagnostics, and enable various modifications.
Some players are also suggesting that the development menu includes missions that are not in the game and could be a Spider-Man 2 DLC, related to a separate character that has not yet appeared in the game, Beetle.
In the Spider‑Man comics, Beetle is a villain who is also the daughter of Tombstone, a character already appearing in the game.
It should be noted, however, that not all content or references found in a game's files are actually used, and therefore there is a possibility that the missions referenced in this development menu refer to previous programmed content that was cancelled.

Insomniac posted a message on its official X account, saying it was already working on a fix to remove access to the developer menu and warning players that using it could lead to problems with their game.
“We are aware that the latest game update may have inadvertently granted access to a developer menu of the game,” it wrote. “There is a fix that will address this issue.
“Please note that using this menu may corrupt your saved data and trophy progress. There is no risk associated with playing the game as intended.”
