Although Nintendo has now finished distributing the DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's not done with the game for Switch. As part of its MAR10 Day week celebrations, Nintendo has announced a special tournament that's only taking place in North America. (Unfortunately for us Europeans)

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Open March 2024 Tournament will take place later this week, on March 10, in North America, with the top 310 players receiving 1,000 My Nintendo Gold Points each. Here's the tournament summary, tournament code, and how to register for the event (via Nintendo.com):

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament March 2024
Come to a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe* tournament on March 10 – or MAR10 Day – from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM PT. Choose your favorite Mushroom Kingdom racer to show your appreciation for Mario and all his friends! The top 310 players will each receive 1,000 My Nintendo™ Gold Points.
Tournament Overview:
The March 2024 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Open Tournament will use the following settings:
- Function: 150cc Race
- Groups: No Groups
- Items: Normal Items
- COM: Normal COM
- Vehicles: All Vehicles
- Smart Guidance: No
- Frequency: Fixed Period
- Number of Games: 24 Games
- Team Shuffle: Every 4th Match
- Player Rating: Any
- Public/Private: Password Required
How to Enter: To enter, you must join the Tournament in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. To access the Tournament, select the following, in order, within Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Online Play, Tournaments, Search by Code. Enter the code below to enter the in-game tournament.

Awards:
- The top 310 players will each receive 1,000 My Nintendo Gold Points.
