German automaker BMW is recalling more than 7,000 vehicles in Australiaafter discovering a potentially dangerous fault brake.
According to the announcement, cars sold in the last two years may be considered dangerous due to a manufacturing defectthat causes signal interference in the electronic braking system.
Although drivers can control the vehicle and slow down , more force may be required to brake.

As BMW's announcement states, reduced brake performance could increase the risk of an accident, which in turn could lead to injury to vehicle occupants , pedestrians and other people on the road.
"If a warning message appears in the central display, drivers should follow the instructions provided and contact their nearest BMW dealer immediately," the company said.
The notice stated that drivers will also receive a notification from the brake warning light, while anti-lock braking and dynamic stability systems may also be affected.

BMW recalls thousands of vehicles
More than 7,100 vehicles sold between 2022-2023 are affected by the recall (520i, 740i, i5, i7, iX1, X1, X5, X6, X7 and XM sedans and SUVs).
When the necessary parts are available, owners should take their vehicle to a BMW dealership to have the brake system replaced at no cost.
BMW is taking this recall seriously and professionally. The company has already begun contacting owners of affected vehicles, informing them of the issue.
