Probiotics company Yakult Australia has been attacked by the ransomware group DragonForce.

Company files and sensitive employee documents were published on the dark web. The company is working with cyberattack to investigate the incident. The DragonForce group has attacked many organizations, leaking files and demanding money.

The leaked data includes copies of passports, driver's licenses, and other sensitive employee information. Despite the attack, the company's operational activities remain unaffected.
ABC investigators were able to trace at least one of the passports to a warehouse employee. The ABC also observed Japanese passports, as Yakult's parent company is based in Japan. A separate database also contains the names and addresses of about 9,000 people. It is not clear whether these records are of customers, but the ABC was able to verify the identities of some of their names and addresses.
Yakult Australia became aware of the cyberattack on December 15.
Five days later, DragonForce revealed that the probiotic company was one of its victims, before announcing the theft of cache on Christmas morning.

ABC Investigations has not verified any of the leaks that have been published about the DragonForce ransomware group.
