Choosing the best streaming isn't just about price, it's also about the overall experience, from how easy it is to navigate to how much there is to actually watch. Every year, Whip Media surveys over 2,000 U.S. viewers tofind out what they think about streaming services. And this year, for the second year in a row, there's a clear winner: Max.

The philosophy of the Max streaming service focuses on the quality and variety of the content it offers. Max tries to select films and series that stand out in terms of script, direction and performance. In addition, it offers variety in the genres of films and series produced, thus covering the various tastes and preferences of viewers. Max's philosophy is to offer a viewing experience that will satisfy users and keep them company at every moment of the day.
However, Max shouldn't take it personally. Its score has dropped slightly, from 94% last year to 88% this year. While that's not a particularly large drop, there have been bigger moves in the rankings, despite Max still being number one.
According to the report, there is generally good news for the industry, as overall levels are increasing. However, the study also suggests that there are several challenges for the most well-known streamers. It notes that Netflix continuesto “face a long-term decline in subscriber satisfaction.”
The top three services are the same as last year, though there are some slight changes to their numbers. After Max, Hulu, with 87% satisfaction (the same percentage as last year), and then Disney Plus at 85%, a slight decrease from 88% in 2022.

Apple TV Plus is in fourth place, increasing satisfaction from 76% to 81%. Meanwhile, Paramount Plus has also improved and is now at 79% compared to 79% last year and 75% the year before.

Netflix’s decline is significant, down from 90% in 2021, to 80% in 2022 and now at 77%, while Prime Video is a bit behind at 74%, up slightly from 72% the previous year. However, the most notable increase belongs to Peacock. It may be last in the rankings, but its ratings have increased from 62% in 2021 to 68% last year and 74% now, putting it on par with Amazon.
Of course, these studies only include a small number of subscribers. However, they provide interesting data on trends and can help services see where their competitors might be doing better. The full study has more details – for example, it says that Netflix “continues to lead in terms of user experience and program recommendations, despite a decline from last year… Disney Plus and Max are the only platforms to show a decline in both categories.”

One of the most interesting areas, given the recent price hike announcements, is whether people consider the services good enough to pay for. Disney Plus and Max shares are down five and seven points respectively, while Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount Plus are all down a small point as well. However, Peacock and Apple TV Plus are up five points each.
