The removal of Cortana is expected and has been long awaited. Microsoft began withdrawing support for Cortana on mobile in 2021 and is now removing it from Windows as well.
According to a Microsoft support document first shared with Windows Latest, Cortana will no longer be supported on Windows starting in August 2023.Although it didn't provide a specific date, it seems like an update will remove this smart assistant at any time, if it hasn't already.
Of course, the news comes as no surprise, as Microsoft is turning its attention to the shiny new toy powered by a partnership with OpenAI — Bing Chat. This Large Language Model-powered chatbot can answer complex questions and summarize sources with questionable accuracy.
