American experts warn that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is likely to cause an increase in unemployment, that is, more specifically, it could bring about significant job losses and dramatically increase the gap between rich and poor. ChatGPT is just the latest AI technology to fuel concerns that it will eliminate the jobs of millions of workers, whether they are advertising copywriters, Wall Street traders, salespeople, coders or journalists.

Despite the reassuring words of workforce experts who believe ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are unlikely to lead to a huge increase in unemployment, there is another concern: it could worsen America's already wide gap between the wealthy and those with less income or wealth. The new wave of tech billionaires created by these technologies could come at a cost, as many workers will end up losing higher-paying jobs.
Artificial Intelligence could eliminate some jobs, but history shows that this is not necessarily a bad thing. Artificial Intelligence has the potential not only to create a variety of new employment opportunities but also to enhance existing ones. The more pertinent question now: what kinds of jobs will these be?.
Anu Madgavkar, head of labor market research at the prestigious McKinsey Global Institute, estimates that a quarter of all U.S. workers will soon experience AI and technology becoming commonplace in their workplace. In fact, nearly half to two-thirds of businesses pursuing AI-related projects. According to Anu Madgavkar: “One way or another, people need to get comfortable working alongside AI.”

Madgavkar confirmed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will most impact white-collar jobs, such as clerical and customer service. “These jobs are likely to be most impacted by the adoption of automation,” he said. “As a result, these workers will either need to shift to different skill sets or embrace working alongside AI technologies.”
Quite simply, the professional careers of many office workers may be heading in a negative direction.
Workforce experts are divided on the impact of AI: some believe it will lead to the mass extinction of call center workers, while others believe AI will simply make those workers more productive by providing them with the information they need. Some experts fear that AI will replace radiologists because of its ability to read cancer scans, while others believe that AI will actually help radiologists, allowing them to focus on more complex issues. And finally, some believe that AI can replace journalists.

Some workforce experts say AI and other new technologies will hurt middle-level jobs more than lower-paying, physically-intensive ones. McKinsey’s Madgavkar said it’s highly unlikely that AI or robots will replace the job of a janitor. In the food service industry, he also mentioned how robot technology can help take customers’ orders—but little robot waiters probably won’t be around anytime soon!
Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to disrupt the legal industry, taking over some roles traditionally held by lawyers, such as preparing initial drafts of business contracts. However, AI could also allow paralegals to take on a greater role in contract preparation and potentially higher-paying positions.

New technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), could create jobs that were previously unimaginable – for example, before the invention of computers, who could have predicted the position of computer programmer? AI is expected to create more jobs in engineering and management, while any decline in other types of jobs could be offset by an increase in healthcare jobs due to an aging population. If people are made redundant due to the development of AI, a system should be created to retrain them for new jobs, such as hospital workers.
