The social menu for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 has a bug that prevents you from creating a game party.
Modern Warfare II Season 1 and the launch of Warzone 2.0 brought a ton of new content this morning, but also some serious technical difficulties. It seems that the social menu in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 is not working properly on the day the battle royale sequel was released . Some players are reporting that whenever they click on the social button located in the main menu of Call of Duty , they are immediately returned to the main menu and are unable to see their friends list or create game groups.

This can be extremely frustrating for players trying to enjoy the new content in Warzone 2.0, and it can also make it impossible to team up with friends. However, players didn't stop there.
The new update created voice channels in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0, which work similarly to Discord. For example, you could have created a voice channel just for your team, or a channel that people can access and use frequently across multiple games, like a Discord server.
A workaround has already been discovered by some players (credit goes to Netoxicky on Reddit) that allows you to invite friends to your team via voice channels.
To invite a friend to your team in Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare II:
- Navigate to the main menu and click on the “Channels” in the top right (it’s the headphone icon).
- By default, you'll see an existing channel for your team at the top. Click on it, then select “Invite to channel”.
- You will be taken to a list of friends. Select who you want to invite and press send.

This only works if you enable voice chat, but it's a quick fix for a problem that's hopefully temporary.
If you don't see an existing team channel, create a new one and name it whatever you want. Invite friends to the channel. This may seem like a pointless effort, but until they fix the social menu bug, this appears to be our only option available according to the official Warzone 2.0 Trello board . The developers are aware of the issue and are "investigating" a fix.
