Samsung Electronics announced that select 2022 4K and 8K TVs and gaming monitors will support the new HDR10+ GAMING standard, offering gamers an immersive HDR gaming experience. The new, cutting-edge HDR gameplay will be showcased at CES 2022 alongside a variety of 4K and 8K gaming titles.

HDR10+ Gaming was originally announced in October, but now Samsung is revealing that its new 2022 QLED TV lineup (Q70 and above) and gaming monitors will be the first to support this gaming standard.
This new standard, developed by HDR10+ Technologies, LLC, provides game developers with the tools they need to provide gamers with an immersive HDR gaming experience without the need for manual calibration.
According to Samsung, its 2022 lineup of TVs and gaming monitors will support the HDR10+ GAMING standard, enabling automatic HDR calibration that will result in stunning picture quality.

Eliminating the need for manual settings when loading games, the game engine automatically optimizes video game content in real time. This ensures that details (dark shadows, bright highlights) are present so that gamers can see and react to everything on screen. It also sets the display to “true reference mode”, providing better colors, without requiring additional adjustments from players.
Samsung also announced that several gaming companies, including Sabre Interactive, are expected to showcase their HDR10+ GAMING titles at CES 2022.

Game Mechanic Studios also presents the HDR10+ GAMING title “Happy Trails and the Kidnapped Princess”, which will be available in 2022.

HDR10+, introduced four years ago, has made a strong appearance across the industry, with 128 partners and more than 4,000 supported devices, including TVs, projectors, smartphones and tablets from more than 28 manufacturers.
NVIDIA 's GeForce RTX 30 Series, RTX 20 Series, and GTX 16 Series GPUs will also support the HDR10+ GAMING standard with drivers scheduled for release in 2022.
