The pandemic has forced many people to move away from their offices and continue their work duties from home. This means they have stopped connecting to the secure corporate network and have been forced to use their own network and personal devices.
This particular situation is not the best for cybersecurity. In fact, it has created new opportunities for criminals. Attacks have increased recently as hackers know that remote workers are not as protected.
According to Reboot Online, 44% of businesses in the UK have suffered a security breach since employees started working from home, a 20% increase on the previous year.
Working from home, whether temporary or permanent, is a situation that exists and may continue to exist for some time (at least for some employees). Therefore, companies and organizations need to consider the issue and take steps to keep their networks secure.
To this end, Cloudflare decided to create and offer a new zero-trust service for browser sessions. The company released “Cloudflare Browser Isolation,” a software that creates a “gap” between browsers and end-users, with the aim of enhancing security.

Instead of employees launching local browser sessions to access work-related resources or collaboration tools, Cloudflare's service runs the original, requested web page in the cloud and transmits a copy to the end-user device.

Because there is no direct browser link, the risk of exploitation, phishing, and cyberattacks is reduced. In addition, Cloudflare automatically blocks high-risk sites (based on known threat intelligence).
The solution is already available through Cloudflare for Teams.
“Everyone uses a browser, and that makes us the perfect target for attackers around the world,” said Matthew Prince, CEO of Cloudflare. “We don’t believe that the most effective protection should be limited to a few large companies with huge IT teams. Cloudflare Browser Isolation can be used by anyone with just a few clicks and offers automatic protection that is effective for most threats people face online.”
