If you're looking to buy an iPad Pro, this isn't the month to do it. We're expecting new iPad Pros to be released next month - check out the charts below and you'll see what we mean.

Take a look at this first chart. This represents all of the iPad releases since the first one was released in 2010. As you can see, most iPads have been released in either October or March, with the most being released in March. When we talk about more iPads, we're talking about single models (like the iPad, iPad Air, and iPad mini), not model variations.

What this chart tells us is that iPads are often announced in March. But the data on March announcements is even more fascinating in this next chart

Notice that over the years, the months that Apple announces iPads tend to be earlier in the year. For the past five years, there has always been a release in March. For the past three years, Apple has also released iPads in the fall.
When you think about it, it makes sense. Apple announces the base (less expensive) models in October, just in time for the holiday season. Apple announces the Pro models in March, when the annual corporate budget is fresh, the holiday season is over, and we're back to our regular routine.
Given that Apple has been releasing iPads every March for the past five years, there's a very good chance the company will hold an event in March — likely announcing new iPad Pro models. Unless the pandemic changes the company's plans, which we don't think will happen.
Now you understand why we're telling you not to buy an iPad in February, especially if you want a Pro model.
