If there's one thing Google loves as much as launching exciting new projects (say hello to Stadia and Duplex on the web!), it's killing them after a few years, and now we have an end date for Google Cloud Print. The service launched in 2010 as a way to make printers more accessible for Chrome OS, but 9to5Google points out in a post on its support site that suggests services are no longer needed.

Google rightly notes that it has improved native support in Chrome OS, but Cloud Print is a welcome link from all sorts of devices to the printers we know, love, and have been endlessly frustrated with when they refuse to work. Its easy connection to other services has helped more than once, but now we're headed towards one-by-one setups and different apps .
If the service is used, then you will have until the end of 2020 to work out an alternative solution, because when the lights go out in 2021 – devices across all operating systems will no longer be able to print using Google Cloud Print.” Cloud Print never made it past the beta stage.
