A cybersecurity research group, also known as Naked Security, has discovered a new scam on Instagram, as they reported in an article on the company's official website .
Through this scam, hackers were given the opportunity to attack Instagram accounts with a simple email. But let's see how this is done in practice.

According to Naked Security, some Instagram users received emails claiming that their accounts would be blocked within 24 hours due to copyright infringement. The email also contained an active linkcalled a Copyright Objection Form. This supposedly would save users from having their accounts blocked if they clicked on it.
The bad news is that many users fell for this seemingly genuine message and clicked on the link. By clicking on it, a fake Instagram account opened. Its address ended in the domain name “.cf” and not the usual “.com”.
The user was then asked to confirm their date of birth, email address, and password . They were then redirected to their real account. Unfortunately, at this point the hackers have already won what they need.

According to experts, Instagram users are urged to be very careful with the emails they receive and to always use two-factor authentication. This makes it very difficult to access the account, even if the password has been stolen.
