Google Duo is now available on the web, just like it is on Android and iOS. This means you can make voice and video calls from your browser without having to download the Google Duo app.
It won't change your life, but it will make it easier..

Google Duo was first announced at Google I/O 2016. It was released shortly after along with the Google Allo app. Recall that Allo was for instant messaging, while Duo was for voice and video calls.
However, the Google Duo app recently gained a dedicated website located at duo.google.com.
To use Google Duo on the web, you just need to visit the page, sign in with your Google account, and you're good to go.

If you've used the app before, you'll see a list of your contacts who already use Duo.
If not, you can use Duo on the web by entering your mobile phone number and verifying that it's you by entering a code that will be sent by the company via SMS.
Google Duo looks similar on the web to the app. Voice and video calls can be made from Google Chrome, Firefox, and Apple's Safari. The web app doesn't seem to work on Microsoft Edge, but that's likely to be fixed.
Let's add that it doesn't seem to have made sense for Google to keep Duo limited to a mobile app. Adding Duo to the web means that everyone can use the app, regardless of the device they're using. Therefore, we expect the app's popularity to grow. If it doesn't grow, Google (as we've seen in the past) won't hesitate to shut down the project, just as it's preparing to do with the Google+ social network in April.
It's worth mentioning that you can already use Google Allo on the web, although Google has announced that it will stop operating the service in March 2019 and promote the Messages service.
Google is this..
