StopUpdates10: Because upgrading to Windows 10 has become very risky lately, disabling updates on Microsoft's newest operating system has become necessary for many who don't want any adventures.
The latest proof is the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, also known as version 1809, which was released on October 2 but has yet to be released....
The StopUpdates10 app does its job well. It helps you disable updates. It has a clean UI with a big “stop Windows updates” button. Just click on it and your system will stop receiving updates. So if you check for updates in Windows 10, you will see the following error:
There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you're still seeing this issue and want to search the web or contact support for information, this might help: (0x80070422).
If you now want to re-enable Windows updates, click the button that says “Reset Windows Updates” and the updates will work again.
StopUpdates10 comes with a number of tools. One of them is called Guard Updates. The small add-on runs in the background, stopping Windows Update every time it tries to re-enable itself.
In addition to regular updates, the program can also block the installation of upgrades, a very useful option especially for those who fear a forced upgrade to their system.
The application also has options to completely disable the Windows Update service.
Needless to say, you will need to run the application with administrator privileges to be able to make all of the above changes.
Download the app.
