Apple: Removes apps from the App Store that violate security

Apple recently removed some apps from the App Storethat offered screen time monitoring services. These apps allow parents to monitor their children's smartphone usage and also help them enforce parental controls on the use of various apps.

Apple removed some of these types of apps claiming that these apps pose a security and privacy to users as the apps, using MDM or mobile device management technology, provide illegal access to the device to the app developers.

However, it is claimed by some screen time app developers that Apple withdrew the apps to speed up competition, as Apple itself has a similar app and third-party apps offer better functionality than Apple's.

However, Apple has argued that these claims are untrue and explains:

“We recently removed several parental control apps from the App Store, and we did so for one simple reason: they put privacy and security at risk. It’s important to understand why and how this happened,” Apple said in a statement. “Contrary to what the New York Times reported over the weekend, this is not a competition issue. This is a security issue.”
