As recently announced, Google is shutting down its popular Inbox service on AprilThat means you have about a week to choose another service, if you haven't already.
Here are some interesting alternatives:
Gmail
Google says it has ported several Inbox features and functionality to Gmail, such as snooze, smart replies, and more. However, it hasn't ported over some important features, such as general sorting and quick archiving of multiple messages.
However, Gmail will continue to receive frequent updates and new features, so it's a good choice to replace Inbox. Plus, many of you were probably using it before Inbox, so it won't be hard to learn. You'll get used to it again quickly.
Google has created a guide to help users during the transition.
Outlook
Another option is Microsoft. Outlook allows you to connect all of your email accounts, including Google accounts. It also has a calendar and separates your incoming emails into “Focused” and “Others.” This separation allows you to better manage your emails .
It also has many features, such as quick replies, file management, scheduling, and more.
Outlook is available for free and has apps as well as browser support.
Edison Mail
A third option is Edison Mail. It has several features, including snooze, categories for email types, an undo button, travel alerts, blocking capabilities, and more.
Edison is also free and is a very good choice as it has features and functions that most apps and services have.
Edison, however, only has Android and iOS apps, so if you want it for a computer you'll have to use something else.
Newton Mail
Newton Mail is owned by Essential. Essential had discontinued it for a while, but has since brought it back. However, unlike Edison Mail, Newton Mail requires a subscription ($49.99 per year).
Newton has many features, such as snooze, read receipts, the ability to go back to old conversations, and more. It also supports Android, Mac, Windows , and iOS, and offers connectivity with apps like Trello, Todoist, and Asana.
However, the price may make many people not prefer it.
Spark Email
Although Spark is currently available on iOS and Mac, reports suggest that it will be available on Android before Inbox is shut down. Spark is quite useful for sorting emails.
It also features pins, reminders, quick replies, smart notifications, a built-in calendar, and more.
Spark is also free. However, if a group uses it, there is a per-user charge.
