Microsoft is planning to release a bunch of new features for the Windows Notepad app soon. While the tech giant hasn't updated the app in years, the next Windows update will include some much-requested additional features. It's clear that Microsoft is listening to the requests of users who use Notepad to write code or view logs.

Soon it will be possible to find and replace words as well as the ability to zoom in and out using the control and mouse wheel. Also added is an extended line ending support so that there are no compatibility issues with Unix and Linux that use LF, and CR for Mac operating systems.
Microsoft is finally adding the control + backspace function to delete the last word, which has been available for years in Microsoft Office and other free versions. There will also be a significant optimization for opening and editing large files, such as a wordlist or a large Log file.
Finally, a useful feature will be introduced that will allow the user to search the Bing search engine by right-clicking on a word or sentence within Notepad. The Update, which is expected to be available for download later in 2018, will be called Redstone 5. However, there have been reports that the highly anticipated tabs feature for Windows File Explorer and other applications will not be released with the same update, but at a later date.
