Samsung may not be the creator of the iPhone X, but its next phone could be the next best thing.
The Korean company has launched its latest premium application processor (AP), the Exynos 9 Series 9810. The chip is a CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree.
The company claims that the Exynos 9810 is “the industry’s most advanced 10nm process technology.” Many of the features it promises are very similar to features we’ve seen before – in the iPhone X.
The processor has an eight-core CPU, which will facilitate multitasking and make it easier to switch apps on Samsung's new phones.
It also features image processing enhanced by deep learning that will allow the new cameras to accurately recognize and categorize faces and objects.
The photo will be high resolution and will reduce background noise.
And with the new image processing, Samsung claims the chip can render 1.07 billion possible colors. That means you'll see a more vibrant display than you've ever seen on a Samsung phone.
It also has a 1.2 gigabit per second LTE modem, which will make it easier to stream high-definition video or video in newer formats, such as 360-degree video.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S9 in February, and this new chip will definitely get fans (and not only) excited.
It's not known exactly what the new device will include, but it's clear that Samsung has its eyes on the prize - a new flagship phone that can take on the iPhone X.
