Good news for gamers and specifically PlayStation 4 fans as Sony has now released a new firmware package called 4.74 that improves the overall performance of the unit. In short, we have a similar update to the previous PlayStation 4 Firmware 4.73 version.
So, if you're planning to upgrade your PlayStation 4 or simply want your console to run the latest firmware version, you'll first need to save the appropriate .PUP file to a computer. Keep in mind that there's an upgrade (300MB) and reinstallation package (850MB) available for download.
Then create a “PS4/UPDATE” path on a FAT32-formatted USB stick, transfer the firmware file there. Don’t forget to back up any important data stored on your console, and connect the removable USB stick to your PS4 unit.
Once you have imported the update package, go to Settings > System Software Update. Follow all the instructions that appear on your screen and apply the new firmware version to your console without deleting user data or modifying settings.
As for the reinstall file, restart the console, click on the “Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)” option, and wait patiently until the device completes the task.
Please note that this method deletes all users, data, settings, and any other files on the console. So be careful!
Taking an idea from what you read above, download the new Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 4.74, run it, and constantly check your website to make sure it is permanently “updated one minute ago.”
