Nokia has officially released the Nokia Camera App on the Google Play Store , allowing for faster and more frequent updates for buyers of its products.
The application's registration in the Play store does not allow its installation on devices other than Nokia, and this is due to the fact that the Finnish company has not made the application available to everyone but only for its own devices.
In other words, Nokia is essentially using the Google Play Store to push faster and easier updates to Nokia Android smartphones so that it doesn't have to integrate these improvements into operating system updates. This process also required several steps and a reboot of the device, while through the Google Play Store the process is faster and allows updates without the need for a reboot.
It should be noted that a few weeks ago, HMD Global, the new parent company of Nokia, bought the UI patent from Microsoft. This means that at some point the Nokia Camera app will look quite similar to the one we use on Windows Phone, which was actually created by Nokia itself.
The menu that the Windows Phone Camera app uses is quite useful when you want to activate settings like ISO, exposure time, and aperture. This feature is quite important for photographers who want to improve their photos with manual settings.
There is a possibility that Nokia will do the same thing with its own camera app but it will only concern its flagships mainly because they are the only ones that will feature Zeiss optics.
The existing Nokia 3, for example, offers mediocre camera performance so adding manual control wouldn't make any sense.
