Kukun Body a gadget that warns if you smell bad

Do you have a date and are worried about smelling bad? Kukun Body will reveal where and how bad you smell.

body powder

It's a gadget developed by Japanese camera manufacturer Konica Minolta, shaped like a microphone, connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth, and can measure exactly how bad you smell and where on your body. The Kukun Body is a pocket-sized device that lets you check your stench in four different locations: on your feet, behind your ear, near your head, and of course, your armpits.

It can detect three different odors, specifically sweat, moderate oiliness, and a third category called karesihu – which roughly translates to the smell of old age and is usually caused by the presence of aldehydes. After analyzing the area, the Kukun Body reveals the raw truth, and discreetly sends you its verdict via a smartphone app.

Unfortunately for us, the company has stated that it currently has no plans to sell the device outside of Japan. For those living in the East, the full product is expected to hit Japanese store shelves this year for 30,000 yen – which is around 232 euros. Those in desperate need can, however, order it from the company's website.

Those of you who purchase it, please tell us if it can be used on other parts of the body, besides the feet, ears, head and armpits.
