refurbished Galaxy Note 7 has made an appearance in China, and listings reveal two models with different battery capacities. Previous reports have suggested that the Galaxy Note 7R will feature a smaller battery than the original model, but it looks like Samsung will make an exception for China.
One variant of the Galaxy Note 7R will offer a 3,200 mAh battery capacity, which is smaller than the 3,500mAh of the original model that was recalled last year.
The second variant comes with a 3,500mAh battery capacity, but this time it won't suffer from the same overcharging issues that led to the device's discontinuation. Samsung has put the new devices through a series of quality assurance tests to avoid fire hazards.
As for pricing, one model will be sold for $520 in China while the variant with the highest battery capacity will cost $580. It is also worth noting that the Note 7R with a 3,500mAh battery is designed only for the Chinese market, a market that Samsung has seen decline in recent years.
It is claimed that Samsung could sell the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in Korea for around $620, but according to local reports the price will be much lower. So it remains to be seen whether Samsung will indeed sell the Galaxy Note 7R at a 50% discount from the price of the original model.
However, both pricing and availability of the new devices will be announced soon as the Note 7R will arrive in Korea from the end of May.
