G6 , 's LG is definitely one of the most attractive premium smartphones and the company is preparing to bring a new exciting feature. What is it?
Recent reports reveal that LG will add the 3D facial recognition feature to its new device. Specifically, the company recently signed a partnership with Oez, the software development company OezFR. LG has already tested the new technology on the G6 and users will be in a position to receive it in June when LG Pay, the mobile phone payment system, is also released.
We should note that this is the first time a facial recognition system will be used for financial transactions in the premium smartphones sector.
The decision to use the Oez software is linked to the fact that this software uses contactless biometric technology and also in other LG smartphones including the V20 and G5. This means that the technology could be integrated into other LG premium devices in the future.
The Oez facial scanning technology requires up to 5MB of memory and includes security measures to prevent incidents when, upon activation of the feature, user photos are used. This issue poses a problem for Samsung's iris recognition technology, which can be unlocked using an image of the smartphone owner placed at a precise distance from the phone as the user's face.
The LG G6 also features fingerprint recognition technology. The global launch of the smartphone started last week, and the company continues to promote the premium version by releasing several videos that demonstrate the device's reliability.
